Ever wonder why your job application for a hairdressing position got turned down? Even when you had prepared a set of splendid resume attached with all those hairdressing certificates you earned attending courses.
Or even though you got the job, but didn't get quite close to the kind of salary or remuneration package you expected?
Sounds like a puzzle to you? It sure do!
Resume is important for any job interview, but your personal biography is more important. What interviewer wanted to know is your "bio". Certificates are only good to show how dedicated you are to improve or upgrade yourself. You can pay and attend as many courses as you can but those certificates can't prove how good you are during the interview. You got to show how good you are in your "Bio Resume".
Show your skills by making a portfolio of all your works. Keeping a portfolio is more important than all those certificates you have.
1. Get yourself a reasonable digital camera (doesn't have to be an expensive DSLR, but if you can well afford it; why not.) and start taking pictures of all those works you have done.
2. Get them printed in quality photo paper and put them into a clear folder (Black color cover) or a tablet PC (example; an ipad). Bring it along with you for the interview, that portfolio will do all the talking for you during the interview.
Appearance:
 1. Hair
. Get your hair regrowth colored. Get your hair properly styled
2. Face
. For ladies, always put on at least simple make-up. Never go for an interview with pale looking face.. For men, always make sure your face looks clean. Blot out those oil from your face before your
interview
3. Clothes
. Black is the color. You don't need fanciful clothes for an interview. You are not doing a platform show. Simple black
T-shirt, shirt, blouse, black pants, skirt or Jeans.
. Never wear shorts or Beach bermudas
4. Shoes
. Black is the color
. Never wear slippers or sandals5. Personal Hygiene
. Make sure your fingernails are clean and for ladies, of course; a proper manicure and pedicure6. Equipment
. Remember to bring along your hairdressing kit with you. You will never know when you will beasked to do a live demo.
. It will be better if you can confidently ask for a live demo of your hairdressing skill to your
prospective employer.

Gray Hair Coverage
It is important for a colorist to diagnose the correct percentage of gray hair the client has before formulating the color for the coverage. It is also worth
considering that your formula for a particular client that u have always been successful in covering her grays, might not work as well as it has been 3 -5 years ago. It may always be the case that the amount of gray hair percentages has increased over time and then you should consider a re-diagnosis on the grays and re-adjust your formula.
